But what sets GoCar Rentals apart is the its use of the Global Positioning System (GPS), which gives cues for an onboard computer to play recorded information when the vehicle rolls by a historical landmark like the Cannery, Fort Mason or the windmills in Golden Gate Park.
The car also lets the driver know it's time to turn left or right or if the vehicle is in the wrong lane.

The vehicles are controlled with a motorcycle-style handle, throttle and hand brakes. Because the car is so small, both driver and passenger have to wear safety helmets and sign a waiver acknowledging that driving it is risky. Because it has three wheels, it can be driven by anyone with a regular Class C driver's license.
The computer is programmed to direct driver and passenger on a two-hour loop around the Fisherman's Wharf area, out to the Marina District through Golden Gate Park and eventually down that part of Lombard known as the "crookedest street in the world."
Along the way, the computer plays recorded messages giving riders information, such as the fact that they are driving in the neighborhood of comedian Robin Williams or that liquefaction caused damage in the Marina District during the 1989 Loma Prieta quake, or that Lombard isn't even the crookedest street in San Francisco.
The tour takes about two hours, but the computer program also suggests other places that extend the trip.."

Driver Requirements:
Minimum age for drivers is 18 with current drivers license.
Safety:
Helmets are provided. All riders receive a full orientation.
All GoCars fit within the DMV definition of “moped”. The renter takes responsibility for the GoCar and their actions while driving the GoCar.

Exploring all over San Francisco is very popular activity with a GoCar. Cars are not allowed on Interstates or on the Golden Gate Bridge. Explore Fisherman's Wharf, The Marina District, Haight Street, Golden Gate Park, Lombard Street - The crookedest street in the world, and Fort Point overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.

Payment: You reservation is secured in advance by a major credit card; Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover Card. An imprint of the renter's credit card, along with a completed and signed rental agreement and liability waver are required prior to the release of the vehicle. CDW insurance can also be purchased directly from Go Car Rentals for $9.00 per day. A$400.00 security deposit is required on a major credit card.

Confirmation for this rental product will be received within 12-24 hours, subject to availability. For every confirmed booking you will receive an e-mail with a link to your E-Ticket Vouchers - when your rental booking is confirmed. Print voucher on your home/ office printer. Please present this E-Ticket vouchers at the Rental Office. This rental must be booked at least 24 hours in advance of your travel date.
Internet rates cannot be combined with any other discount, coupon or offer.
