Starlight Paddle Trip Details: The trip begins with a 30-45 minute orientation to the sea kayak and paddling technique. Each kayak is equipped with a "glow stick" and guides carry flashlights while on the water.

A short introductory session prepares you for a leisurely paddle into the sunset along Sausalito's houseboats-strewn waterfront. We'll float past harbor seals and enjoy the city's eclectic and colorful houseboats with the silhouette of Mt. Tamalpais in the distance.

As the stars rise over Angel Island we'll bring our boats together and enjoy the sparkling San Francisco skyline, and the silvery moonlight in the wake of our kayaks. Exact departure time will be in your confirmation.

 

We paddle Saturday nights, year round. Sea Trek has a reputation for making sea kayaking fun and easily approachable, and we try hard to anticipate your needs.

Our sandy Sausalito beach is the ideal starting point for your kayaking experience. Sea Trek's helpful staff will have your boat ready at the waters edge for you to enjoy. We include a high quality wet suit if you want one, and all the gear you'll need - plus a map and tips on what you might see. We happily provide basic paddling instructions for first timers!

We use 2 or 3 person fiberglass kayaks, lightweight paddles, and comfortable life-jackets on all of our trips. Whether you're looking for an intimate experience, or a party of paddlers, we'll help you create your own adventure.

January - December: Saturday - 1 hour prior to Sunset

Departure Point & Parking :

• Meet at Schoonmaker Marina, 85 Libertyship Way Sausalito, CA 94965. Park temporarily under the palm trees and check in at our beach counter for parking directions and a permit. Due to parking logistics we recommend you arrive 15 minutes before your trip start time. Tour concludes at the original departure point.

Attire and Footwear:

• Although we are planning to stay dry, there is always a certain amount of "splash and drip" associated with kayaking. We therefore recommend clothing that dries quickly and stays warm when damp, such as Synthetic, nylon, capilene or polypro, or wool tops/bottoms such as shirts, shorts, windpants, tights, long underwear, bike jerseys. Avoid cotton! Additional layers such as a fleece jacket for climate changes. We will provide a kayaking windbreaker to keep your jacket dry and salt-free. Getting in and out of kayaks requires that your feet step in the water, sorry, no way around it, so we recommend sandals or old tennies with wool socks.

• You can store extra clothes, cameras or whatever in the kayaks or leave items behind while you're out kayaking. We can safely store items at our sausalito location or in our vehicle for away trips.

You may also wish to bring:

• A hat and sunglasses with retainers

• Bring a retention strap for your hat and sunglasses

• Sun block

• Small snack and a plastic water bottle with water

• Camera, bring a zip-lock baggy for protection

• We always recommend a change of clothes for traveling home

Important to Know:

• Capsizes are extremely rare. all of our trips take place in stable, traditional, two-person sea kayaks (larger and steadier than river kayaks). The popular image of kayaks bobbing through rapids, and flipping upside-down is common to river kayaking but not ocean kayaking.

• Is it Strenous? Only if you so choose. ocean kayaks glide easily, with little physical effort. sea trek trips are designed so that participant don't over exert themselves; and travel is at a leisurely pace.

 

Payment:

Your credit card will be charged the total amount of products and services selected at the time of booking. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover Cards

Confirmation & Travel Voucher:

This tour must be booked at least 24hrs in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12-24 hours subject to availability. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to your E-Ticket Voucher. Print this voucher on you home/office printer and present SIGNED voucher at departure location. Only one voucher will be created per tour or activity for all travelers.

Cancellation Policy: 

Cancellation outside one week of your tour: All sea trek events are subject to cancellation due to weather and lack of paddlers. If sea trek cancels at any time you will receive a full refund. If you cancel one week or more prior to your trip, you will be refunded less a $10.00 per person cancellation fee. Cancellation within one week of your tour:  You will be charged the full amount. You may have someone else take your place if you choose, please call to advise. We are happy to reschedule you for another trip within the year, for an additional $25 per person. There is no refund or credit for no shows.

Supplier and Tourcorp assume no responsibility for delays caused by accidents, breakdown, weather, conditions of trails, roads, bays, oceans, rivers, airspace and any other conditions beyond control of Supplier, in addition to insufficient numbers of passengers.
